Lasemd Ultra™ Skin Resurfacing

Lasemd Ultra is the 1927nm Thulium laser for skin revitalization. The laser creates tiny “microchannels” in the skin which increases the absorption of compounds. It helps rebuild glowing and healthy skin, reduce appearance of pore size and enhance brightness, in addition, the laser energy stimulates dermal repair, promote healing, regeneration, and collagen formation to give the entire surface a healthy and beautifully noticeable radiance.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The LaseMD Ultra is a non-ablative laser that uses fractional technology to rejuvenate the skin at a cellular level. Non-ablative lasers create micro-channels in the skin to stimulate the body’s own healing processes. As cell turnover occurs and collagen levels increase, the skin becomes smoother, clearer, and more youthful from the inside out.

Because these lasers only affect a portion of the skin, they can work deeply into the dermal layers to achieve dramatic improvement, while minimizing discomfort and downtime. The procedure leaves the outer dermis intact, so you can return to your regular activities afterward with little indication you had a cosmetic procedure performed.

In addition, the microscopic channels in the skin allow delivery of advanced cosmeceutical compounds to the deepest layers of the skin to trigger repair and rejuvenation.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

LaseMD Ultra has proven to be effective in treating a variety of types of hyperpigmentation including melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and dark scars. This is due not only to its successful outcomes for patients but also that it requires minimal downtime after a treatment session. The LaseMD Ultra treats hyperpigmentation by first creating microscopic injuries in the skin where the pigmentation issue exists, encouraging new, healthy skin to grow, and working deep into the dermis to treat hyperpigmentation at a cellular level. This means you can treat your hyperpigmentation without harming normal skin.

LaseMD can also be used for skin rejuvenation for those patients who are not yet a candidate for Fraxel or ablative laser treatments, as it has less downtime than those lasers.

In addition, one of the advantages of LaseMD Ultra comes because during the treatment we open up your skin’s microchannels. They initiate a natural healing response that stimulates collagen and elastin production. They also provide a channel for our professional-grade serums to penetrate your skin for a much higher absorption! It takes about 12 hours for those microchannels to close and heal. So, we recommend reapplying our LaseMD customized serum frequently for the first 12 hours to allow as much absorption as possible before the channels close to maximize results and efficacy!

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?

LaseMD Ultra is a fully customizable treatment delivered at the perfect intensity for your skin type and concerns. It can provide everything from mild resurfacing to a more aggressive approach.

The treatment is relatively comfortable when combined with topical anesthetic and cooling. You may feel a bit of warmth as the laser passes over your skin.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Treating the skin is a gradual process; multiple treatment sessions are needed to see noticeable results and for the most effective changes. The aesthetic concern and severity will determine the number of sessions required. Most patients will benefit from at least three to six treatments, spaced out 4-6 weeks apart.

Consistency is important, like anything in our life. It’s important to keep up that skin health. Every day we’re aging, and every day we’re accruing sun damage and pollution damage to our skin. So, we want to keep working on that skin quality. We want to fight that aging process and the damage we experience daily. So, it’s important to get into a routine, treating skin like working out or going to the gym, and eating healthy. This should be part of our daily life cycle to correct and maintain the result.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?

A significant benefit of LaseMD Ultra is that it involves minimal downtime. Most patients return to their daily routine right after leaving their appointment.

You can expect a few days of mild redness, a sandpaper feel to your skin, and increased sun sensitivity. It is normal for the pigment and debris on the surface of your skin to flake off during this time. You may also experience temporary stinging or itching after the treatment.

Hydration is important to support a healthy skin barrier; using products such as the Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Niacinamide Serum and Vitamin C&E Antioxidant help to prevent TEWL (trans epidermal water loss) and keep moisture in the skin. It’s also a good practice to avoid direct sun exposure and be sure to use sun protection daily to keep your skin at its best.
